What is a carbon footprint?
A carbon footprint is the total set of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions caused by an organization, event or product.
Once the size of a carbon footprint is calculated, a plan can be put into place, which might include the development of alternative projects, such as solar or wind energy or reforestation.
Once your carbon footprint has been calculated, you may want to consider options such as carbon offsets.
One carbon offset represents the reduction of one metric ton of carbon dioxide or its equivalent in other greenhouse gases.
