Environmentally Friendly Motoring

Although everyone knows that our cars are not the most eco friendly contraptions, there is no doubt that there are plenty of ways in which to make them more environmentally friendly than they might first appear. If you are feeling concerned about your own, steadily increasing carbon footprint then it might be time to start considering ways in which you might be able to make your life and your motor vehicle a little bit greener.

If you are considering buying a new car you might like to consider going for a dual fuel model – those which run of battery powered electricity as well as conventional petrol. These hybrid models are far more efficient and will save you money in the long run simply by reducing your road tax and your fuel bills. If this is still a little out of your price range, however, there are other ways to buy an eco friendly car.
Go for a fuel efficient model with a small engine. Smaller cars are always more energy efficient, particularly when compared with large four track models which guzzle gallons of petrol without really covering any distance.

Also, you should still consider alternative modes of transport even if you do have a car. Sometimes it will still be cheaper to use public transport and if walking or cycling is a possibility, try not to get into the habit of always using your car when you could be using man power.

Surprisingly, you might also be able to make an eco friendly investment with your car insurance. By choosing an ethical car insurance provider, such as Co-operative Insurance, you will not only get a great deal on your insurance premiums but you will also be signing up to a company which boasts a strong environmental policy. Next time your car insurance is up for renewal, consider Co-Operative Insurance as an eco friendly alternative.
